Welcome to The Steading at Ballintean in Glenfeshie at the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Just a few minutes from the quiet village of Kincraig and a 20-minute drive from the busier towns of Kingussie and Aviemore, Glenfeshie is an area of outstanding natural beauty containing some of Scotland’s most treasured wild landscapes and rare wildlife. Vast ancient forests, hidden lochs, heather-clad moorlands and snow-capped mountains provide a breathtaking backdrop for an inspiring yet relaxing holiday.
The Steading is available to organised tour groups and is particularly appropriate for wildlife and/or photography tours and workshops. Red squirrels and crested tits abound in the nearby forest and ospreys can be seen fishing the river during the summer. Roe deer are frequently seen and pine martens inhabit the woodland edge. On a still winter’s night, the only sound you will hear is the eerie song of a prospecting tawny owl!
The Steading provides informal, house-party style accommodation, full of rural character with a spacious two-tier lounge (perfect for tutorials and/or evening lectures), a large farmhouse dining room and 8 guest bedrooms accommodating up to 12 people.
