Photo Stories: Moving cranes, moving people
For three weeks each spring, 15,000 Eurasian Cranes make the wet fields surrounding Sweden's Lake Hornborga, their temporary home. Why? Food...and lots of it. Each night, once the cranes have roosted, around 3 tonnes of grain is spread around the fields, fuelling the birds before their onward journey north to their breeding grounds. With thousands of cranes come thousands of people. Rows of campervans line the car park with many crane-lovers staying as long the cranes themselves.
