Our home base

Spectacular Glenfeshie channels the tumbling waters of the River Feshie to join the Spey at Kincraig on the shores of beautiful Loch Insh.  This is Strathspey - a unique mosaic of wild landscapes inhabited by Scotland's most celebrated wildlife.

Our home base is a lovely converted steading at the very foot of the Cairngorms at the northern end of Glenfeshie.  The Steading is beautifully appointed, comfortable and full of character - specially designed for natural history house parties.  There are wonderful views from the two tier lounge which houses a selection of wildlife photographic books to enjoy.  We all eat together around our famous farmhouse dining table, where a glass (or two) of wine can be enjoyed with a superb dinner.  All rooms have a walk-in shower and toilet. Kick off your shoes and make yourself at home!

The Steading is surrounded by pine and birch woodland with the River Feshie and the mountains beyond, just a minutes' walk from the door.

An extensive area of herb rich pasture with scattered woodland stretches away to the north then borders with the ancient pine forests of Rothiemurchus and Inshriach.

There are a number of permanent and temporary hides set up within the 120 acre grounds, where guests can spend time photographing Red Squirrels, Crested Tits, Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Roe Deer and Badgers amongst others
