Can you have too much snow? Well I'm really really tempted to say no, but I suspect the majority of folk living in Highland Scotland would strongly disagree! With a half-metre still lying in most places and another reading of -15c this morning, I thought an image from spring might lift spirits! In all honesty, there's another reason for including this image taken on one of my missions for Wild Wonders of Europe. The project's outdoor exhibition launches in Den Haag, Netherlands on May 27th to coincide with both an extensive National Geographic feature and the release of the Wild Wonders flagship book, which has already sold 100,000+. I do bang on (as many will testify) about the communicative power of visual imagery but it works, and as the nature photography community faces unprecedented challenges, that's something we should all hold on to.
